Surah Al-Asr

Surah Al-Asr ("The Declining Day, Epoch") is chapter 103 of the Quran — a Meccan surah of 3 ayahs. It sits in juz 30 on page 601 of the Mushaf.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَٱلْعَصْرِ﴿١

Wal' asr

By time,

إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ لَفِى خُسْرٍ﴿٢

Innal insaana lafee khusr

Indeed, mankind is in loss,

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ﴿٣

Il lal lazeena aamanu wa 'amilus saali haati wa tawa saw bil haqqi wa tawa saw bis sabr

Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.
